(NECN: Josh Brogadir, Boston) - A blaze ravaged homes in Dorchester for hours before 150 firefighters were able to end the flames.
The fire spread quickly from one three-decker home to another on Fox Street and Juliette Street, but thankfully no one was hurt.
“She’s like ‘it’s a fire, it's a fire, you need to get out,’ so I went and got my son, I was taking my 7-year-old son, I couldn't get him to wake up. So I pulled him, I had to yank him out of the bed, I'm like ‘come on you have to go it’s a fire,” said Quiana Carrington.
The fire went six alarms at 6:30 p.m.
“It was almost like a firestorm, where the three three-deckers are all almost touching each other,” said Boston Fire spokesman Steve MacDonald.
Flames climbed the backs of the buildings, people screamed from the street, and firefighters tried to get everyone out to safety.
“A little bit too close, it took maybe three or four minutes for all three houses to go up in flames and the fire department got here and it's already gone,” Melendez said.

Crews were able to contain the damage to the three homes.
Though fire officials say a look from the front doesn't show the damage, from the backyards, charred siding is all that remains.
Even after getting her kids out, Carrington knew she had to go back in.
“I was like ‘oh my God my dad, my dad.’ So I ran back up into the house and yelling get out of the house and my dad had come out of the back door. I’ve never cried so hard in my life, because I never thought I would come home to this,” Carrington said.
The American Red Cross is assisting some 20 people or more.
Damage is estimated at $1.2 million.
