(NECN) - The Massachusetts state Senate held a rare Saturday session to debate a transportation financing bill.
The discussion could run well into Saturday night, with dozens of amendments being considered.
Among them was one that called for the MBTA to consider selling naming rights for subway and commuter rail stations. The amendment was approved, with supporters saying it could generate about $20 million for the cash-strapped system.
Despite some progress, a group of anti-tax protesters briefly disrupted the debate. About two dozen of them were eventually evicted from the Senate gallery. Many of them had attended a Tea Party rally earlier on the Boston Commons.
