Mass. General: Wounds Had Metallic Fragments in Them

(NECN) - Doctors at a press conference outside of Massachusetts General Hospital Tuesday morning say many victims have undergone major surgeries, including amptuations due to severe wounds to the lower part of their body.

Doctors say the wounds are related to the blast, and include small metallic fragments, such as pellets, shrapnel and nails, that the bombs had, and some of the victims had additional injuries doctors were addressing.

According to doctors, the patients at MGH are now in stable condition, and are all alive.
