MGH Doctor: ‘We Will Rise From the Ashes'

(NECN: Boston, Mass.) - Dr. David King, a trauma and acute care surgeon at the Massachusetts General Hospital Trauma Center spoke publicly on Thursday about the patients under the hospital's care -- and a visit from the President of the United States.

"The system functioned in my mind near flawlessly," said King.

"At the end of the day, this institution made me proud and I'm proud to be here," said King.

"I would like to think as tragic as this event is...we will rise from the ashes," said King.

"All of our patients are improving every day," said King.

"I could see the smiles," said King of the victims meeting President Obama. "I don't know what they talked about."
