1975 Murder Convict Appealing Conviction Decision

(NECN) - Michael Skakel will take the stand Thursday as he appeals his murder conviction in Connecticut.

Skakel is a nephew of Ethel Kennedy.

He's serving 20 years-to-life in prison for the 1975 murder of Martha Moxley.

Skakel is challenging his conviction on the grounds that his trial attorney, Mickey Sherman did not competently defend him.

Sherman says he did all he could to prevent Skakel's conviction and denies he was distracted by all of the media attention.
