(NECN: Justin Michaels) - Three new people are in custody in relation to the Boston Marathon bombings.
The news broke on Wednesday, but the news not surprising to many Bostonians.
"I still believe there could be a couple more out there. Because they haven't found who funded it," said one woman as she walked through the memorial at Copley Square. "That's probably my bigger concern - because you find who funds it, that's how you're going to prevent it."
The three students, said to be friends of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, are in federal custody and charged with obstructing justice and trying to protect the accused terrorist. Authorities say the students claim they did not help him before the Boston Marathon bombings attack.
Two 19-year-old boys from Kazakhstan, Azamat Tazhayakov and Dias Kadyrbayev, are both charged with removing and concealing evidence.
The third friend, Robel Phillipos, was charged with lying to the FBI, a charge his mother says he's not capable of doing.
The FBI says three days after the bombings when the suspects' pictures appeared on Boston television stations, friends texted Dzhokhar Tsarnaev that he looks like one of the two bombers. He texted back, “LOL," and then texted they could take what they wanted from his room.

The teens from Kazakhstan took emptied firecrackers they found in a backpack and brought them to a dumpster. They also took Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's laptop, allegedly protecting their friend instead of calling police.
"My client, Azamat Tazhayakov feels horrible and was shocked to hear that somebody he knew at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth was involved with the Boston Marathon bombing," said Harlan Protass, Tazhayakov’s attorney. "He is cooperating fully with the authorities, and looks forward to the truth coming out in this case."
Investigators were led to the landfill in New Bedford, Mass., where they found the firecrackers and the gunpowder. Investigators hope to match it to gunpowder residue found in the Boston Marathon pressure cooker bombs.
It's important to note these three students are not accused of knowing anything about the bomb plot before it happened.
Phillipos is due back in court Monday. The other two, Tazhayakov and Kadyrbayev, will be back in court May 14.
