(NECN: Alysha Palumbo, North Attleboro, Mass.) - There was a small protest outside a North Attleboro, Mass. funeral home where our Providence affiliate WJAR confirmed that marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s body was taken on Thursday.
"I mean, Christ, we’re in Massachusetts, it happened here, why is it here? It’s kind of pulling at the heart-strings a little," North Attleboro resident Garrett Plath said.
Police were posted outside the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home on Commonwealth Ave, as residents expressed their outrage that a wake or burial service for Tamerlan Tsarnaev would be held just miles from where the bombs went off.
"Why can’t they do it in their own country? His son called him an angel, where’s his father? Where’s his father to come get him?" North Attleboro resident Patty Burke said.
"I think it’s kind of a disgrace, especially a small town like this, there’s a lot of veterans, there’s a lot of military folks here, for something like that to happen and for it to be publicized so big and then to bring it somewhere especially in the state, that’s not good," Plath said.
Meanwhile, chilling new details of the bombing plot were unveiled late Thursday.
NBC News reports that the Tsarnaev brothers originally planned to set off explosives on the Fourth of July – but allegedly changed their minds and decided on Patriot’s Day when they finished the bombs sooner than expected.

That’s according to officials with knowledge of the interrogation of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
The officials reportedly also told NBC News that Dzhokhar told investigators the bombs were built in Tamerlan’s Cambridge home.
