12-year-old Boy Killed in Allston Pedestrian Accident

(NECN: Jackie Bruno) - Boston Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that killed a 12-year-old boy Thursday morning.

Police tell us the 12-year-old was killed on Cambridge Street around 6:45 a.m.

If you take a look at the video from earlier, you can see there is a backpack on the ground in front of a commercial van from Aegis Energy Services out of Holyoke.

Jackie Bruno made a call to their company but they quickly hung up after saying no comment.

The intersection where the accident happened is right across from the Jackson Mann School, which is for children in grades K-8.

We couldn't find anyone who witnessed the accident, but, those who live in the area tell NECN that it is a dangerous intersection and the street is very dangerous because people speed on it and a lot of people cross the road even though they aren't supposed to.

"There's a lot of people who cross in this particular area...kind of the most convenient place for everybody to cross," said Eva Ramirez.

"A crosswalk definitely could have helped here...that could have prevented this from happening definitely," said Brandon Cohane.
