Police Searching for Man Who Drove at Officer

(NECN) - Police in Hingham, Mass. have obtained a warrant for the arrest of 30-year-old Bruno Brauer.

Police say a truck driver charged at an officer at a high rate of speed on June 7 in Hingham. The truck had been seen driving with its lights off at night at a car dealership and the officer noticed the driver was wearing a black ski mask.

The driver took off. When the officer stepped out of his cruiser and ordered the driver to stop, the driver charged at the officer before crashing through a closed gate and escaped. The officer was not injured.

The truck was registered to a business in Milford, Mass. The New Hampshire license plate 300-0020 attached to the truck had been reported stolen in Peabody, Mass.

Police identified the driver of the vehicle as Brauer, who was temporarily staying at a motel in Saugus, Mass. He is from Brazil and has resided in the Massachusetts towns of Malden, Somerville, Malden, Medford and Everett. He is known to work with auto sales and construction.

The warrant for Brauer's arrest includes 17 charges, including felony assault with a dangerous weapon on a police officer.
