Oregon Woman Advocates Vigilante Justice

(NECN/NBC News: Abbey Gibb) - People in an Oregon neighborhood say they're now forced to "pack heat" to fight constant burglaries and vandalism.

One woman is sending a pretty strong message.

Upset neighbor Coy Rita Tolonen said, “It sat here, it just fit nicely here."

Tolonen said this 50-pound statue was worth thousands.

"The next thing I know, he's picking up my statue."

The brazen thief first tried to break into her home, even though it was clear the family was inside.

She chased after him yelling "drop it, probably some choice words, who knows."

She's done this before, chasing, that is.

"Once with a golf club and once in my car."

And frankly, she and some Jennings Lodge neighbors are tired of the mostly petty crimes.

"They need to know that were not going to tolerate it."
