Police: Number of Arrests at This Year's Country Fest Down

(NECN) - Police are reporting a big drop in arrests at this weekend's Country Fest at Gillette Stadium compared to last year.

Foxboro Police say they arrested 139 people Saturday night and 130 people Friday night.

Of those arrests on Friday, 55 were criminal arrests, many for underage drinking before the show.

Seventy-five people were placed in protective custody.

That's half as many people as last year. Police credit the addition of more police officers and reduced tail-gating time.

Each year, the event draws tens of thousands of country music fans.
