Search, Prayers Continue for Missing Teen Abigail Hernandez

(NECN: Nicole Jacobs, Conway, N.H.) - Through the tears, Zenya Hernandez speaks to her daughter Abigail, hoping wherever she is, she hears.

"We love you, we miss you, and happy birthday, Abby," she said.

On her 15th birthday, the search continues for the missing girl from North Conway, N.H., and so to the prayers.

With candles in their hands and hope in their hearts, a community comes together in support.

"I think it's pulled people closer together and made them realize even though this is a small area, you still need to be cautious," said David Grow.

Abigail has been missing since Wednesday. Authorities have scoured thousands of acres of land and water, but to no avail.

"Unfortunately, we still have nothing new to report," said Chief Edward Wagner of Conway Police Department. "It is still a missing persons investigation and nothing more than that."

Abigail's scent was tracked back to her home and nearby woods, but that's where it stops.

But through the uncertainty, one thing remains clear: the desire that the burning flames of the vigil will light Abigail's path home.

Abigail is described as a 15-year-old Hispanic female, 5'4", 118 pounds.

If you have any information about Abigail's whereabouts, please call 1-800-call-FBI.
