Mass., Mo. Governors Wager Friendly Bet for World Series

(NECN) -    The Red Sox and the Cardinals have a long-standing history, most recently facing-off for the World Series both in 2004 and 2007.

The governors of Massachusetts and Missouri announced a friendly wager ahead of the World Series.

Under the terms of the bet, if the Red Sox win, Mo. Governor Jay Nixon will donate a four-pack of Cardinal Cream Soda from Fitz's Bottling Company, a box of chocolates from Bissinger's Chocolates and an assortment of Italian baked goods from Missouri Baking Company.

If the Cardinals win, Governor Deval Patrick will fork over New England Clam Chowder from Legal Sea Foods, a variety of beverages from Polar Beverages, and a selection of baked goods from Dancing Deer Bakery Company.

Governor Patrick thanked the producers of those Massachusetts products, but said he doesn't think Governor Nixon will get to enjoy them.
