(NECN: Alysha Palumbo) - There was a mix of confusion and panic at Central Connecticut State University Monday afternoon after a fog horn blared through campus alerting students to a report of a suspicious person who was possibly armed.
While some students didn't know what prompted the lockdown, others had seen a man causing concern.
Junior Jordan Governale's eyewitness description matched that of a man marched out of James Hall in handcuffs.
"I saw a guy with camouflage pants, knee pads, a body armory vest, paint ball mask with tinted goggles and his hood was up and he had a katanna strapped to his back," said Governale. "Less than a minute after I saw him because I was walking off campus, I saw like seven or eight cop cars like just immediately rush in the direction that he was going in."
After three hours in lockdown, authorities gave the all clear.
"There's three people of interest," said Chris Cervoni, CCSU police. "One I definitely know is a CCSU student. Didn't recover any weapons right now."
Late Monday night, CCSU identified a sole suspect in the incident as 21-year-old senior David Kyem, the son of CCSU geography professor Peter Kyem.
Police would not deny one CCSU student's report that the man originally seen with the sword-like weapon not only threatened no one, but he was returning to campus from a Halloween party.

"Possibly could have been a Halloween costume," said Cervoni. "That's what we're looking into."
CCSU said David Kyem was released on $1,000 bail bond. It's still unclear what happened with the other two people reportedly questionned alongside Kyem when they were found in a hallway on the fourth floor of James Hall coming out of a suite together.
Officials say the investigation into what happened is continuing.
