(NECN: Foxboro, Mass.) – Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey announced the “Observe, don’t Over Serve," a campaign targeted to servers at restaurants and bars to limit alcohol consumption and possible save a life.
“As the holiday approaches, my friends in public safety see far too many accidents on the roads of Norfolk county, a lot of those ending up in deaths,” said Morrissey.
He said that servers are on the front lines every day and night and can make a difference.
“We hope that this campaign is being carried out not just through the holiday season, but through the year,” he said.
He added that the Patriots have been active with the “HERO Campaign,” aimed at taking drunk drivers off the road and getting designated drivers.
He said that the “HERO Campaign” will often offer someone a free soft drink at games if someone signs up to be a designated driver and hopes the same concept will carry over into the “Observe, don’t Over Serve Campaign.”
Morrissey said that he is urging servers to ask people if they have designated drivers.
