Missing NH Teen's Mom Urges Daughter to Be Strong

(NECN: Marnie MacLean) - The mother of missing New Hampshire teen Abigail Hernandez reached out to her daughter Friday while investigators asked
the public for help.

At an afternoon press conference, Zenya Hernandez read a letter she wrote to Abby. She said she believes Abby is alive and she told her daughter she is strong and smart and courageous.

On Oct. 9, investigators say Abby left Kennett High School after school and began walking home on her usual path. She never made it to her house
and has not been seen since that day.

Searchers have combed nearby woods and wetlands. They've looked by boat and by air but there has been no sign of the missing girl.

Investigators say they are looking at all avenues but can't offer a theory as to whether Abby ran away or might be a victim of foul play.

Investigators say with the Thanksgiving holiday coming up people will be traveling to other parts of the country and other people will be coming home to New Hampshire. They want to keep Abby's story in the public eye as much as possible and they encourage anyone with information to
contact police.
