RI Man Arrested in Connection With Mass. Murder

(NECN) - Bristol County District Attorney Sam Sutter and Fall River, Mass. Police Chief Daniel Racine announced the arrest of 34-year-old Rhode Island man, William Tate on Sunday. He was arrested in East Providence in connection to an overnight murder that took place in Fall River.

Tate was charged with murder, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition. He is also being charged as a fugitive from justice in Rhode Island.

David Rodriguez, 26, of Fall River, was shot by Tate outside of Ship's Cove Apartment complex at 130 Canal Street early Sunday morning.

Police responded to the scene and Rodriguez was rushed to St. Anne's hospital in Fall River, where he was pronounced dead.

Tate will be arraigned Monday morning in Providence District Court in Rhode Island.
