Nutritionist: Proposed Food Label Changes Would Have Big Improvements

(NECN) - The latest possible revamp to nutrition labels is making headlines across the U.S.

Some of the proposed changed includes bigger font, new measurements and different portion sizes.

Sheila Tucker, nutritionist, dietitian, and lecturer from Boston College joined us for more on the subject.

She said the current label model is 20 years old and there are some issues.

Tucker said she likes the increased font idea and prominently displaying the servings first.

In addition, she said that added sugars will be displayed and can help people determine how much sugar is natural.
