Curry College Issues Precautionary Campus Health Alert

(NECN) – Health officials have notified Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts that a visitor to the campus has a suspected case of the mumps.

The individual visited campus between February 14 and 19.

“The Massachusetts Department of Public Health and local public health officials are working to identify people who may have been exposed to an out of state resident visiting Massachusetts with symptoms consistent with mumps. The individual has returned to their home state.  There are no confirmed case of mumps in Massachusetts residents. As the investigation is ongoing, no further details are available," said the Mass. Department of Health in a statement.

There are no confirmed cases of mumps reported by any student or staff member at Curry College at this time.

The campus health alert is being issued out of an abundance of caution.

This news comes in the wake of revelation this week that two people in Massachusetts have recently been diagnosed with Measles.
