(NECN) - A young Rhode Island boy who's been battling leukemia has underwent successful surgery.
Seven-year-old Tyler Seddon underwent a procedure that decreased his leukemia cells.
Seddon's mother, Rachel, posted the information regarding the surgery to her Facebook page Monday night.
Her Facebook post read as follows:
"Doctors just told me Tyler's leukemia cells are finally decreasing!!! The power of prayer is amazing!!!"
Police swore-in Tyler Seddon as police chief for the day, and held a large celebration for him in Burrillville, Rhode Island in honor of his seventh birthday earlier this month.
In addition to his new title, Seddon was driven around in a cruiser and was guest of honor at a birthday party attended by hundreds of firefighters, police officers, and first responders from several states.
