WEB ONLY: Krystle Campbell's Father: ‘It Doesn't Make Sense'

(NECN) - It has been nearly one year since two bombs went off at the finish line of the Boston Marathon.

Medford, Mass.-native Krystle Campbell was one of three people who were killed on April 15, 2013. More than 260 others were injured. The pressure cooker bombs exploded about 12 seconds apart on Boylston Street.

An MIT police officer was also shot and killed in a shootout with the two suspects behind the bombings.

NECN's Latoyia Edwards sat down for an exclusive interview with Campbell's parents, Patty and Bill Campbell. In this video clip, her parents talked about a letter they received from a woman in California. This woman traded spots with Krystle along the marathon route and blames herself for the death of Krystle.

"The woman from California felt like it was her fault. It wasn't. No, it's not her fault," said Campbell.

"She wrote me a nice letter to tell me how nice my daughter really was," said Campbell.

"It's just hard...it doesn't make sense," said Campbell.
