Infant Twins Allegedly Abused by Father Continue to Recover Well

Two twins who were allegedly abused by their father in Maine are continuing to improve.

The infants were brought to a hospital with serious injuries due to apparent head trauma.

According to the twins' mother, the infants are recovering well.

Their father, Anthony Scarpinelli, is facing aggravated assault charges.

The infants were taken Southern Maine Health Care Emergency Department with serious injuries due to inflicted head trauma on May 2.

One infant was treated for serious injuries, the other had critical injuries.

Investigators determined that Carpinelli was the caretaker of the twins when the injuries were sustained. Police say they were intentionally inflicted injuries.

Carpinelli was transported to the York County Jail where he is being held without bail.
