3 Arrested in Deadly October Shooting in Boston's Dorchester Neighborhood

Someone opened fire down the street with a high-capacity handgun, police said. Fifteen rounds were fired

Three suspects have been arrested months after a shooting that left a man dead in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood.

Tyshawn Sanders, 18, Tyshawn Cummings, 21, and Jamari Manning, 21, all of Boston, were arrested Friday, Boston Police confirmed. All three are charged with the murder of 41-year-old Shawn Borden.

The victim was rushed to Boston Medical Center after being shot while working on his car on Dorchester Avenue on Oct. 18. The street was busy as families were returning home during the evening commute. Several days later, he was pronounced dead.

"Today's arrests should send a strong message to anyone who knowingly chooses to hurt or harm any member of our community," Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said in a statement. "If you carry a gun and use it to take the life of another human being, we will find you and bring you to justice."

Police say the department's Fugitive Apprehension Unit and Youth Violence Strike Force chased down and apprehended the suspects. All three will face a judge Monday in Dorchester District Court.
