3 Kids Hurt After Roller Coaster Comes Apart During Operation

Three children were hurt, and one was transported to a local hospital, after a small roller coaster came apart Friday night at a Maine carnival.

Police say three children were injured Friday night when a roller coaster came apart while in operation at a Waterville, Maine, carnival.

The Waterville Fire Chief told necn affiliate WCSH that a small roller coaster called the "Dragon Wagon" was packed to capacity when it came apart. Three children suffered minor injuries and one was transported to a local hospital.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
