3 Plead Not Guilty to Medicaid Fraud

Three people have pleaded not guilty to Medicaid fraud, related to claims made in providing care to a disabled adult

Three people have pleaded not guilty to Medicaid fraud, related to claims made in providing care to a disabled adult.

Prosecutors say 70-year-old Gloria Relation of Williamstown, Vermont, is accused of submitting claims for payments of over $29,000 providing care to the adult, when she didn't. Authorities allege that was provided by 43-year-old Chris Relation of Barre, who was excluded from providing care under Medicaid and to whom payments were not authorized.

He's accused of impersonating another individual to health care providers. Prosecutor says Gloria Relation is accused of cashing Medicaid payment checks and giving money to Chris Relation.

The third person, 27-year-old Jamie LaFountain of East Montpelier, is accused of submitting claims for payments for falsely providing care to the same person.

All pleaded not guilty this week in Washington County Superior Court.
