3 Who Stole From Trooper's Home Caught via Kayak Sale

Police in W. Gardiner, Maine say arrests happened after kayak was sold

State police say they've charged three people following a burglary at a state trooper's home in West Gardiner, Maine, after one of the stolen items, a kayak, showed up for sale online.

Police said Tuesday the arrests happened after the kayak was sold. They say they arrested 29-year-old Dustin Woodworth of Augusta, 27-year-old Ian Watson of Farmingdale and 25-year-old Sarah Giampetro of Farmingdale over the weekend.

Police say Trooper Tim Black found his garage had been broken into last week. Items including the kayak, ammunition, mountain bikes and a police jacket were gone. Troopers found the kayak advertised on Facebook and Craig's List for $140 and tracked the seller.

Police said the money was being used to buy drugs. It was unclear Tuesday if the three defendants had an attorney.
