Two out of four people arrested Friday in series of armed street robberies across several Massachusetts communities are due in court Monday.
Twenty-year-old Michael Ellis of Haverhill, 19-year-old King Sheman of Newburyport, a male juvenile from Newburyport and a male juvenile from Amesbury were arrested Friday. Police say they captured the four suspects after they pistol-whipped someone in Lawrence, stealing a phone and a wallet.
Ellis and Sheman are scheduled to be arraigned in Lawrence sometime Monday.
The suspects are also accused in five armed robberies early Friday morning in Boston, Cambridge and Brookline.
According to police, two BB guns were found in one of the suspects' cars. Police also say they found evidence tying them to each of the victims.
Property stolen from victims in Cambridge was also recovered. Two roommates in that city reported being robbed at gunpoint around 2:30 a.m. Friday, with the suspects taking their purses and a cell phone. Also in Cambridge, a Harvard University student also reported having his headphones, money and other items stolen in a similar robbery around 3 a.m.
That student sustained minor injuries but refused treatment.
