4 Families Displaced After Fire

Officials say four families were displaced after a fire ripped through the top floor of a three-story home in Providence, Rhode Island.

Firefighters responded at around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in the city's Wanskuck neighborhood. The blaze was controlled by 2 a.m.

Acting Providence Fire Chief Scott Mello says the top floor is uninhabitable and the lower two floors sustained heavy smoke and water damage.

The Red Cross is helping 11 adults and five children who were displaced. No injuries were reported.

It's not clear what sparked the flames. Authorities are investigating.
