4 Injured in 5-Vehicle Crash in Bedford, New Hampshire

One of the drivers was seriously hurt, according to police

Four people were injured in a 5-vehicle crash Thursday on Route 101 in Bedford, New Hampshire.

Bedford Police and Fire responded to Route 101 near the Hill-Brook Motel at 7:47 a.m. after receiving multiple reports of an accident. 

Police said preliminary investigation shows that a black Jeep was traveling eastbound on Route 101 when it crossed the double-yellow line and grazed a parcel truck and then struck three other vehicles, all in the westbound lane.

The driver of the parcel truck was not hurt, but the drivers of all four of the other vehicles were injured and were taken to Elliot Hospital in Manchester. One of the drivers sustained serious injuries, according to police.

Route 101 was closed for about 2-1/2 hours in both directions, reopening around 10:30 a.m.
