4 in Custody After Stolen Car Crashes in New Haven

Four people are in custody after a police pursuit of a stolen vehicle in New Haven Tuesday afternoon.

According to New Haven police, a stolen Honda CRV out of West Hartford crashed into 904 Quinnipiac Ave. following a police pursuit.

Three men were taken into custody, Officer David Hartman confirmed, but a fourth person fled from the scene.

The U.S. Coast Guard assisted in searching for the fourth suspect, who police believed to have jumped into the Quinnipiac River Marsh. The fourth suspect is now in custody.

None of the suspects have been identified at this time.

Police were looking into the possibility that the vehicle was involved in a fatal shooting in the city around the same time, but the cases do not appear to be connected.
