Police in Scituate, Rhode Island, arrested five people following a Monday morning car chase.

Authorities told necn affiliate WJAR that Scituate Police were notified that a car was involved in a breaking and entering around 11:30 a.m. Police said four adult males and a juvenile female were in the vehicle.

A chase ensued as the suspects were driving to Johnston. The vehicle went onto Interstate 295 to Route 44, where it rear-ended another vehicle in North Providence, causing that vehicle to hit a RIPTA bus. One person was transported to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The vehicle continued on before striking a wall at the intersection of Fruit Hill and Smith Street. At this point, all the suspects fled on foot, two of which hid under a nearby porch.

All of the suspects were ultimately found and taken into custody by Rhode Island State Police, along with Scituate Police and Johnston Police. A loaded handgun was discovered near where one of the suspects was apprehended.

    The investigation is on-going.
