$5K Reward Offered for Info in Fatal January Shooting in Montpelier, Vt.

Vermont State Police are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of a man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in Montpelier, in what authorities say is the first murder in the state capital in nearly a century.

Police are seeking Jayveon Caballero, who's wanted in the January shooting death of Markus Austin.

Police have said Caballero and Austin were involved in an altercation outside Gustos bar in Barre earlier that morning.

Police believe Caballero confronted Austin outside Austin's apartment and shot him.

Police say a Barre man later took Caballero to a bus station in White River Junction, Vermont, and bought him a bus ticket.

Reginald Jones has pleaded not guilty to accessory after the fact for allegedly helping Caballero avoid arrest.
