6 Boston High School Students Hospitalized After Eating Pot Brownies

Boston Public Schools said they could face disciplinary action

Six Boston high school students were taken to a local hospital after allegedly ingesting "some sort of hallucinogenic substance" and exhibiting signs of illness, according to police.

Boston Police said the incident happened Friday at West Roxbury Academy and Urban Science Academy. The students were taken to Boston Children's Hospital.

Boston Public Schools issued a statement Friday afternoon saying that the students ingested brownies that may have been tainted by marijuana.

"Boston Public Schools does not tolerate students in possession of, or under the influence of, controlled substances while at school," the statement said. "Students who are found to have been in violation of the school's Code of Conduct will be subject to disciplinary action."

No other details, including the conditions of the students, were immediately available.
