6 Indicted for Roles in Illegal Massage Parlors

Six people were indicted Friday for their roles in running illegal massage parlors in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

In August 2014, police began surveillance on Elysium Spa, Boakang Body Works and Magic Touch Spa.

Over the next several months, authorities saw men patronizing these three spas on separate occasions, and most commonly for one-hour intervals.

More than 20 massage parlor patrons supplied police with written statements that they allegedly paid a fee for the massage and additionally tipped the employee for sex acts.

Police seized $51,000 in cash from the establishments as part of the investigation.

Douglas R. Crociati of Plytmouth, Edward F. Coffey of Revere, Thomas E. Thevenin of Plymouth, Jiping Wang of Plymouth, Xiaolan Luo of Plymouth and Zhibo Zhao of Plymouth were indicted on counts of being alleged operators and for the trafficking of a person for sexual servitude. 

Ten people have been charged in the case.
