8,000 Without Power in Lynn

Officials are quickly working to make shelter space available for affected reisdents.

Officials in Lynn, Massachusetts are opening a temporary shelter at a local high school Sunday morning after widespread power outages were reported in the city.

Officials have opened a warming center at Lynn Arts in Central Square. An earlier shelter slated to open at Lynn Classical High School is no long going to open, police said. 

The department's Facebook post notes about 8,000 residents were without power in the city early this morning. Now, about 450 are still without power.
