AG Office Appeals Marijuana Ruling to State Supreme Court

The New Hampshire Attorney General's office is appealing a court ruling that allowed state residents to get therapeutic cannabis in other states.

The Concord Monitor reports the November ruling allowed qualified patients waiting for the state's alternative treatment centers to open this spring to receive identification cards to be used at dispensaries in other states.

The attorney general's office wants the state Supreme Court to determine whether patients will still be allowed to go out of the state once the New Hampshire dispensaries open.

The office filed an appeal on Dec. 22 after a judge sided with Linda Horan, a terminally ill woman who sued to get her registry card. She died earlier this month.

Her lawyer filed a motion to dismiss the appeal Tuesday.
