Alleged Driver in High-Speed Chase Held Without Bail

Keith Jones, 23, of Acton, was arraigned in Woburn District Court

A man accused of leading police on a high-speed chase through Lawrence and Woburn Wednesday is being held without bail on an unrelated warrant.

Keith Jones, 23, of Acton, was arraigned in Woburn District Court on charges including assault with a dangerous weapon, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and more.

Jones was held on $7,500 cash bail, or $75,000 surety bail for the arrest Wednesday and was ordered held without bail for a warrant out of Attleboro District Court.

Police say the pursuit started around 10 a.m. when a Lawrence Police officer tried to stop the vehicle Jones was driving.

Jones allegedly refused to stop and fled on I-495, I-93 and I-128, stopping in Woburn, where alleged passenger, 20-year-old Odain Mark of Hyde Park, jumped out of the car and fled on foot into the Woburn Racquet Club.

An employee of the club learned Mark was actively sought was contacted police, who arrested Mark shortly after.

Police say Jones drove to Wilmington and tried to ditch the car at Shawsheen Elementary School, but was arrested in the parking lot as the school was briefly locked down.

Mark appeared in court Thursday on a probation violation and was released. A date for Mark's arraignment has not yet been set.

It was not immediately known if either suspect has an attorney.
