Alleged Drunk Driver Arrested After Hitting Cruisers, Pedestrian

28-year-old Eduardo DaSilvia was arrested for alleged OUI, among other charges

A Massachusetts man was arrested early Sunday morning in Boston for a number of charges, including OUI.

Boston Police said Eduardo DaSilvia, 28, of Medford, struck a police cruiser from behind at 2:40 a.m., which was engaged in a routine traffic stop on Storrow Drive.

At the time of the crash, two cruisers were parked behind the car of a 24-year-old Lynn man, whom they had pulled over for motor vehicle violations. Both cruisers had their flashing, emergency lights turned on.

The motorist in question was standing outside of his own vehicle at the time of the crash. Police said that a KIA Sportage slammed into the rear of the first, parked cruiser, causing it to lurch forward into the second, which in turn hit the 24-year-old man from Lynn.

The man, who was not identified, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital.

DaSilvia is currently being held on $10,000 bail.
