Amid Massive Outages, State Opens Shelters, Warming Centers

It was a dark Thanksgiving for more than 200,000 people in New Hampshire Thursday

It was a dark Thanksgiving for more than 200,000 people in New Hampshire Thursday.

Wednesday's storm wiped out power - in what state officials are calling the fourth largest power outage in the state's history.

In response, the state has set up various shelters and warming centers.

The following shelters are currently opened:
• Nashua High School North located at 10 Chuck Druding Dr. in Nashua. The Nashua shelter will open overnight starting at 6 p.m.
• Allenstown Elementary School located at 30 Main St. in Allenstown. The Allenstown shelter will be open overnight starting at 7 p.m.
• Londonderry High School located at 295 Mammoth Rd. in Londonderry. The Londonderry shelter will be open overnight starting at 6 p.m.
• Campton Elementary School located at 1110 NH Route 175 in Campton. The Campton shelter will be open overnight and is currently open.

The following warming centers are currently open:
• Grace’s Place at 9 Mechanic St.in Farmington.
• Winchester Fire Department at 6 Parker St. in Winchester.
• Auburn Fire Department at 6 Pingree Hill Rd in Auburn.
