Animal Cruelty Charges Possible After Goats Found Dead on Farm

Vermont State Police and the Vermont Department of Agriculture are exploring the possibility of bringing animal cruelty charges after some goats were found dead on a farm in Holland.

State police were notified of some dead goats at a farm on Prairie Road on May 8. They met with workers on the farm and determined there were dead goats on the farm along with other living goats.

The remaining goats were turned over to another farmer. Some of the goats were in poor health and are being cared for.

Police said the farm workers are cooperating with them and the Department of Agriculture, who are continuing to investigate.
