Armed Intruders Break Into New Haven Apartment While Baby Is Home

Armed intruders broke into a New Haven home on Wednesday night and pulled a gun and a knife while a 3-month-old child was home, according to police.

Police said they responded to an apartment on Main Street at 11:03 p.m. to investigate the report of a home invasion and learned that a 19-year-old woman was home at the time with a 3-month-old child.

She said they were in a bedroom when she heard the front door being forced open. Then three men, came into her room, demanded money and valuables and took off with some money and the victim’s boyfriend’s two iPhones, police said.

One intruder had a gun, another had a knife and the other was unarmed.

The teen said all three were wearing black pants, black hooded sweatshirts and masks with only their eyes showing.

Witnesses reported seeing a champagne colored, four-door Nissan Altima parked and running in front of the building and three men got into it and took off down Main Street toward Atwater Street.

No one was injured during the home invasion.
