Suspect in Lynn Fatal Shooting Held Without Bail

Michael Tate, 28, of Lynn, was arraigned on a murder charge on Friday

Judge Matthew Mchera ordered the suspect in Monday's fatal shooting in Lynn, Massachusetts, to be held without bail.

Michael Tate, 28, of Lynn, was arraigned on a murder charge in connection with the shooting death of Philip Russo. A plea of not guilty was enterrd on Tate's behalf. 

The shooting happened on Chestnut Street near Mason Street just before 6 a.m. Monday, where Lynn police officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Lynn Union Hospital, where he died. The victim was later identified as 24-year-old Philip Russo.

Police have said the shooting did not appear to be random.
