Authorities Discover the Cause of a Devastating Fire in Oxford, Mass.

Authorities say they have determined the cause of a three-alarm fire that destroyed a former factory in Massachusetts.

Oxford Fire Chief Sheri Bemis told necn's Katelyn Flint that a kiln, a container for drying wood, started the fire Tuesday night.

The building was once used by a lumber refurbishing company. The old lumber, much of which was already soaked with petroleum, combined with the many combustibles inside the building.

These tanks of propane and diesel lead to the explosions, and the petroleum produced tell-tale black smoke.

The circumstances that lead to the combination of these materials are still under investigation, but the Fire Department does not suspect foul play.
