Source: Man Shot Execution-Style in Parking Lot

Officials in Worcester, Massachusetts, say the man was pronounced dead after being shot in a parking lot on West Boylston Street.

Police in Worcester, Massachusetts, say a man was shot multiple times before dying in a parking lot Monday night.

Both Worcester Police and Worcester County District Attorney's Office say Paul Milluzzo, 45, of Leicester, was shot in a parking lot next to Smitty's Tavern at 611 West Boylston St. and was pronounced dead at the scene when first responders arrived around 6:15 p.m.

According to police, the attack was targeted and not random.

A source with knowledge of the case says he was shot "execution-style point-blank."

The sound of the gunshots prompted Quinsigamond Community College to post a warning to students to remain inside campus buildings. The email sent to students said there was a suspect at-large and at the campus was on lockdown. That warning was lifted around 9:30 p.m.

Local and state police were on the scene investigating. West Boylston Street was shut down in both the north and south lanes, but has since reopened.

There's no word on any suspects. Police say they are currently interviewing witnesses. No motive is currently known.

This is the city's seventh homicide of 2014.
