Authorities Searching for Agressive Animal

Police in Natick, Massachusetts, are searching for an animal that attacked two people on Saturday.

With two little boys, Marisa Peluso isn't taking any chances after hearing of the attack near her home.

"I did think twice about bringing the kids out," she said.

The animal, which Natick Animal Control and Massachusetts Environmental Police believe is a gray fox, attacked in the 100 block of East Central Street.

Peluso has seen a similar animal in her backyard.

"Didn't think too much of it at the time, but now knowing about the recent attacks, it triggered my memory," she said.

The area where the attack happened is full of homes and businesses.

"Right in town where the kids are playing and there's people around - I'm surprised to hear that," said Tiffany Williams, who cut her evening plans short.

The mother lives along East Central Street, near where the attacks happened.

"We were planning tonight go walk down to the common and have dinner on the common, but we're not going to do that now, because I don't want to walk down the strip of road after this," she said.

Environmental police worked with local police to try catch the animal, which they think is sick. But so far, they haven't been able to locate it. They're just asking people in town to keep and eye out and play it safe. That's what Rick Merson is doing.

"You can be a little bit more alert anyways, you just don't leave things that maybe draw or attract them," he said.

Anyone who sees the animal is urged to call 911 immediately.
