Baby Boy Born Along Side of Highway in Norwell, Massachusetts

A baby boy was born along the side of a Massachusetts highway Monday night, state police say.

Police say troopers got the call from a mother who was in the car on Route 3 north and having contraction that were two minutes apart.

Three troopers rushed to the scene in Norwell to help deliver the baby, and Norwell EMS arrived as well when the baby began to crown.

The boy, whose name was not revealed by state police, was born at 9:40 p.m.

The mother and her son were taken to South Shore Hospital, and dad followed, according to police.
