An 18-month-old boy was killed Friday after being run over by a pickup truck in Alton, Maine, said police.
The Portland Press Herald reported that the incident happened around 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Alton Elementary School, off of Rte 16, in the Penobscot County town.
According to Maine State Police, the boy was with family, watching a relative drive a go-kart in the school parking lot when a man in a truck accidentally ran him over with one tire.
First responders tried to save the boy but he reportedly died at the scene after about 20 minutes.
