Beloved Portland, Maine, Pub to Close for Good

A beloved Portland, Maine bar is closing its doors for good.

The Brian Boru Public House, a fixture in the city’s Old Port area, announced early Friday morning on Facebook that it would permanently close at 1 a.m. Monday.

Daniel Steele, the owner of the establishment, thanked patrons and the city for their support over the years.

Founded in 1993, the pub was a popular place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
