Police in Beverly, Massachusetts, are investigating a crash that left a pedestrian injured.
Authorities said a man was thrown about 70 feet when he was hit by a vehicle in the area of Rantoul Street and Broadway around 7:30 p.m. Monday.
The victim was taken to Beverly Hospital. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Police initially called the crash a hit-and-run. They later said the vehicle drove up the street, but then stopped.
Police said the woman who was driving the vehicle was also taken to a hospital. Her condition was not known.
A witness said he was inside his store when he heard the crash.
"I was doing some work and I heard the bang, boom," said Darssan Patel. "It was a little bit dark, hard to see, but I saw the man lying in the street."

People were asked to avoid the area. Beverly Police Chief John LeLacheur said on Twitter around 8:45 p.m. that Rantoul Street had reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
