Body Pulled From Mystic River ID'd as Murder Suspect

A body pulled from the Mystic River in Somerville, Massachusetts, on Tuesday has been identified as a man who was wanted for murder in the death of a Malden woman last month.

The Middlesex District Attorney identified the deceased as 35-year-old Kenneth Manning of Malden, Massachusetts.

He was wanted for the murder of 36-year-old Colleen Russell. An arrest warrant was issued for Manning on Feb. 18. He was last seen in Somerville on Feb. 16.

Russell was found on Feb. 15 after authorities responded to a well-being check at her apartment in Malden. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The medical examiner said she died of "sharpe force injuries."

A passerby spotted Manning's body in the Mystic River around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday near Shore Drive. State and local police responded. The body is believed to have been in the water for some time.

Manning's death is not considered suspicious.
